I do mean it. (Photo by Tim Mossholder on Unsplash)

Who am I?

I am KC Calpo, a Filipina writer, editor, and blogger based in Metro Manila, Philippines. I own and run Semi-Online, a monthly to bi-monthly newsletter accessible via https://semi-online.me.

Does this website collect user data?

Yes.

What type of data?

If you want to subscribe to my newsletter, you will be required to input your first and last name, as well as your email address.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here.

Through my newsletter distribution solution and the analytics services I use, I will also know your IP address, geolocation, level of engagement (e.g., number of opened/read newsletters, and exit links), what browser you use, which pages you have accessed, and for how long you’ve been on this website.

This website uses cookies for logins. These cookies contain no personal data, and will be discarded when you close your browser. They are not permanent: login cookies last for two days, screen-options cookies last for a year, and cookies for users who choose “Remember Me” will be valid for two weeks. Login cookies are removed when you log out of your account.

Does this include content from other websites?

I often link to articles, videos, newsletters, and websites that I like and want to suggest to my readers; and use GIFs to help provide context, set up punchlines, and communicate certain ideas and feelings. These embedded content behave exactly as if you are visiting the source website(s).

If you click on the embedded content, you may be taken directly to the source website(s). These websites may collect data about you as well, use cookies, use third-party tracking services, and monitor your interaction(s) with the embedded content and activity throughout that website.

Do I share your data with anyone else?

No.

How long do I store your data?

I keep your subscriber data – and will be able to see them – for as long as you keep your newsletter subscription active. You can also see, edit, and delete your personal information anytime you want.

For those who unsubscribe from my newsletter, I will keep their data for a limited length of time (up to a week, max) just in case they decide to resubscribe. Otherwise, I will delete their data completely from my website and email list.
